Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Vijaya Cherukuri, a resident of Largo, is a highly experienced in providing effective and quality care in primary care with special emphasis in geriatric care and women’s health. She is the Medical Director of South Pasadena based Premier Health Care and the Medical Director of the Springs at Boca Ciega Bay nursing home. She is a medical graduate of the Andhra University in the city of Visakhapatnam, India and completed her residency at the Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. She is a board certified physicians in Internal Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association as well as the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Cherukuri has been a practicing in the Saint Petersburg area for the past 17 years. She attends in-patient care at all South Pinellas county hospitals. Dr. Cherukuri is married and has a son and a daughter. Besides English, she is also fluent in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages.

Rebecca Simpson, PA-C is a Nationally Certified and State-licensed physicians Assistant. Rebecca attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL where she majored in Psychology. She then attended PA School at Barry University, St. Petersburg, where she earned her Master of Clinical Medical Science. Along with her training in General Medicine, Rebecca also brings to the practice her experience as a Psychiatry physicians Assistant. Rebecca is a member of the American Academy of physicians Assistants, Florida Academy of physicians Assistants, and Christian Medical and Dental Association. She is a long-term resident of Largo, where she lives with her husband and 2 cats. When not caring for patients, Rebecca enjoys coaching and mentoring young women as a dance and colorguard instructor.

Christopher Johnson is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner recently certified in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He started his nursing career as an RN in 2008, in the Medical Intensive Care at St. Petersburg General Hospital, and then transitioned to Northside Hospital where he worked in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care from 2011 to 2016. He now enjoys providing primary care to the adult and geriatric community both in the clinic, and rounding on patients at skilled nursing facilities. He is a member of the AANP and GLMA, and is excited to be part of Premier Health Care, Inc.
